SOLD - FOR SALE: Superb Squeezebox Touch in excellent working order
This excellent unit offers touch screen control of music streaming features...either from your own NAS / computer or from streaming services. Radio stations and other services are available. It requires an Internet connection (Wi-Fi or cable, but cable is preferred). It comes complete with its remote control (several buttons are unfortunately sticky, but there are alternative controls available) and power supply. Its output is either audio (via two phono connectors, using the internal high-quality AKM DAC) or digital, via phono or optical outputs. In use the device has been faultless.
As ever with these displays, when you have several thousand CDs to select from, the tiny display is less than perfect. It is very simple to control the device from a laptop/tablet/smartphone/smart TV (even simultaneously). This is what we do.
To make full use of the music selection features, the use of the Logitech Media Server (free software and available for most platforms) on the NAS / computer, where the music is stored, is recommended. This software is free and very easy to set up, but I am happy to provide technical support if needed in this area.
The internal DAC is very good. However, if you have a favourite external DAC then you can use this by simply connecting to the digital outputs.
This is a highly reliable, extremely high-quality piece of hi-fi equipment. It is a mystery why Logitech pretty well sunk the entire range of Squeezebox products.
My reason for selling this equipment is that my HiFi system is going through yet another revamp and the Touch no longer fits into the new system, and, frankly, it is too good to be left sitting on a shelf.
