Thorens TD150 MKII (1971) Transcription Turntable.

A SUPERB Example of This Highly Desirable Thorens Model In Fabulous Condition With Sensible Modifications & Useful Accessories.

*Lid Complete/Intact & Highly Polished
*Original TP13a "Kugel" Tonearm (with additional Headshell)
*Audio Technica AT110E MM Cartridge (200hrs usage approx.)
*IEC Fitted Mains Socket
*Audiophile Quality IEC Mains Cable (1.3m).
*New Drive Belt Fitted Dec'17 & New Spare One Included.
*Complete 'Sound Deadening' Treatment.
*Owners Manual -PDF print.

This has been a project I have undertaken, and have now reached the stage where I do not wish to go further as I am fully satisfied with my improvement's-yet there is still more potential for further 'Tweaking' as this is a 'Tweakers' turntable- the rest is up to the new buyer if they choose.
I have fitted a IEC mains cable to avoid the inconvenience a captive cable holds, but have retained the original RCA phono leads (as fitted by Thorens)-they are in a very good condition and please me-again these can be readily changed. The Teak plinth has been cleaned and waxed polished and is as original including the alloy strip for the lid to rest upon.
Inside the plinth comprehensive 'Sound Deadening' has taken place I used 3mm Cork (with a high rubber content to avoid cracking/flaking) on the sub-chassis & a rubber lattice material with 'Sorbothane' has been used on the sub-platter and undersides of the tonearm board-these modifications have offered significant sonic improvements across the audio spectrum. The main bearing housing is also treated with it's own sheath.
The turntable sits on sprung and adjustable feet, but ALL original components have been kept for the new owner(feet & screws, base plate, suspension spring foam insets, mains cable with securing clip etc. and will be forwarded).
The benefit of having a spare Headshell affords the user the option of changing cartridges readily, and also being able to perform A/B testing easily, certainly-a feature I found most useful.(These headshell's don't come cheap!).
