Hi

I've been corresponding with a user regarding a wanted ad I posted for some speakers. I was already getting a bit suspicous of the guy as he seemed a bit pushy to get the deal done, and a couple of things he said didn't ring true. Also, in his last email he mistakenly used a different first name. I had come onto the site just to have a look at my ad and noticed that he had been banned for being "Suspected of fraudulent activity". Would it be possible for users to be notified if someone who has responded to thier ad is banned?

When a scammer posts an item for sale and it turns out he is a scammer, an warning e-mail is sent out to any user who might have responded to him.

We have not don the same thing for a scammer replying to wanted ads only however. Sometimes these scammers do not register on our site so it is difficult to connect their activity to other users or their ads.

While we're glad that you were suspicious enough not to proceed, I agree it would be better to know right away if someone you have been communicating with turns out to be suspected of fraudulent activity.

We're definitely going to work on updating the system to send out warnings of non-registered guest emails that get banned. Glad you caught on to the user.

[ Edit Sept 29th 2016 - We've now implemented a system that sends out email warnings when someone who had previously contacted you through AudioMart is later banned. ]
